The 2008 GMC Envoy steals the thunder over its competitors and its previous versions through one unexpected luxury that anybody and everybody will love – extreme comfort. The GMC Envoy comes in SLE, SLT and Denali trims, with 2WD and 4WD options in both. The Denali Trim is definitely the higher end model, with more power and more amenities. The SLT and SLE trims have 285-hp, 4.2 litre Vortec I6 engines, with a torque of 276 pounds per foot. The Denali trim definitely has more power – it comes with a 300-hp, 5.3 litre VortecV8 engine, with a torque of 321 pounds per foot. Both the 2WD and 4WD versions of all models are equipped with four-speed automatic transmission. All trims seat five comfortably in two rows.As far as fuel economy is concerned, on a highway, you can expect 20 mpg and in the city, 14 mpg. The 2008 GMC Envoy also comes with a basic warranty of either 36 months or 36000 miles.

The safety measures for the 2008 version has been improved, with the addition of roof-mounted head curtain air bags, which is a standard feature on all models. Anti-lock four wheel disc-brakes with modulated brake pressure, GM’s StabiliTrak electronic stability control and front impact airbags are just some of the standard safety measures you will get. The GMC Envoy also has an ignition disabling device, which will disable the engine if an attempt is made to start it with anything other than the original key.A little beyond the expensive border, 2008 GMC Envoy is priced between $27,900 (€18,000) and $37,100 (€23,900).
